Manda has worked in the cultural sector for 19 years, working with artists and communities to produce creative projects which combine her enthusiasm for heritage and the arts with a passion as an advocate for fair pay and building resilience within the cultural sector.
She started her career at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset, programming heritage and craft-based exhibitions and events. In 2005, Manda moved to Worcestershire to become Arts Development Officer for Malvern Hills District Council. Whilst there she worked closely with local people, organisations and was involved in supporting and managing projects such as; Shindig, Worcestershire Arts Partnership, Route to the Hills and festivals including Tenbury Mistletoe Festival and Upton Jazz Festival.
In 2011, Manda set up her own company offering project management, fundraising and financial support for arts, heritage and community organisations. From 2013 – 2016 she combined this with working part-time as Assistant Director for Shropshire-based visual arts company, Meadow Arts.
In 2016, Manda was one of a team who launched a new social enterprise, Equal Vision. She continues to work on a range of projects including; The Ring, Upton Jazz Festival’s Best of Young Jazz, Autumn in Malvern Festival, Dancefest (trustee) and Fuelled by Theatre (volunteer).
